Learn to Sail Course
From Novice to Competent Crew in 3 Days
Learn to sail on Bribie Island’s sheltered Pumicestone Passage with our fully qualified instructors.
Our training vessels range from sailing dinghies through to ocean going yachts.
Trainees will learn;
Level 1
• The theory of sailing (Booklet supplied)
• How to rig a sailing dinghy/ trailerable yacht
• How to tie essential knots
• Basic sailing skills – helming, tacking ,jibing (on water) supervised tuition by our club’s qualified instructors.
Level 2
• Consolidation of level 1 skills
• Sail trimming for speed and comfort (on water)
• Basic spinnaker handling (theory & on-water)
Level 3
• Consolidation of level 1 & 2 skills
• Introduction to racing (theory & on-water)
After trainees have completed the Introduction to Sailing course, they are able to;
• Crew on club member’s boats who require extra crew
• Hire the club’s sailing dinghies (After competency test)
• Compete in regular club events
• Skipper their own vessel
Course Dates
Level 1- Introduction to Sailing- 18 February
Level 2- March 2 (Level 1 also available)
Level 3- 17 March (Level 1 also available)
Pricing:
Adults – $75/day or $200 for 3days
Children (under 16) – $50 /day or $130 for 3 days
1 Adult + 2 Children -$300 for 3 days
Family (2 Adults + 2 Children) $400 for 3 days
